Hey there! I’m Sivaa, a multidisciplinary designer and developer from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. I read, code, design, and bike!
I'm currently a 2nd Year at BITS Pilani, where I'm studying Computer Science. At BITS Pilani, I'm a part of the Student Council and contribute to the BITS Pilani Discord Server, in the capacity of a Moderator. I also contribute to the Erevna Discord Server in the capacity of an admin which is an umbrella organization for several other initiatives.
Apart from that, I have been leading Outreach and Engagement at Young Tycoons Buisness Challenge, a platform for the biggest entrepreneurship learning festival for teenagers globally, launched in 2021. We had a little over 7000 participants.
Previously, I’ve worked with Merge Hack + Policython as a Marketing Executive for their event, where my friend and I made a bot using google app script for email marketing. I've also been the lead in an Organizing Capacity at Policy for the People which is a Harvard student-led organization which empowers people to write policy, we host several “policythons” each year for students to virtually compete in.
In the past, I have been actively involved with several other initiatives like:
- NovaCrypt, an international student-led umbrella organization dedicated to building the newest generation of scientists, engineers, and leaders.
- TEDxLavelleRoad, in the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
- The Affair Magazine, a magazine, by students, for students, covering areas from art and humanities, politics, and science, to technology and design!
- The Eptire Magazine, a human rights magazine, raising money for a variety of causes through sales.
My school life has been very mercurial. I changed 8 schools in 12 years. Which was not entirely great as I used to have a hard time making friends changing 2 schools in the same academic year. I’ve studied in Chennai , Muscat , Bahrain , Abu Dhabi , Bangalore , Madurai and Dubai . Looking back at it now, I’m under the impression that it was for the best, the dynamic "me" you see today is the cascading result of constantly seeking that discomfort in new environments and cultures.
